NYPD Officer Michael Rodrigues got over on the stupidity of several Brooklyn gang members after they all friended him of Facebook. After learning of their year-long crime spree in Crown Heights, Rodrigues figured he’d give the social media approach a try. It worked.
Fourteen members of the Brower Boys were arrested after they made it entirely too easy for Rodrigues to track them by making posts that it was “break-in day on the avenue.” After familiarizing himself with the group’s language, police set up surveillance of these idiots in action.
They allegedly argued—online—over who would get the cash for a stolen laptop. These kids clearly never watched The Wire. Good luck posting bail.
