UC Berkeley freshman Derek Low, like most people entering college, was underwhelmed by the the living facilities offered by his school's dorms. Unlike most people entering college, however, Low decided to do something about it.

BRAD, "Berkeley Ridiculously Automated Dorm," is Low's effort to "create the most ridiculously automated Dorm at Berkeley ever." It responds to his every whim— opening curtains, playing music and turning on/off the lights via a variety of inputs, including voice command, motion sensor and a remote control.

Watch Low give a tour of BRAD in the video above (which features the same indie soundtrack as the famous Google Glass video). Stick around til the end for a demo of the "emergency party button," which we certainly hope will get this kid laid.
