Beginning today, YouTube viewers now have the option of watching any video available in 1080p in 3D, as well. The feature, available in the “Quality” settings on the bottom menu bar of each video, was previously only available to video uploaders.
Like Hollywood movies that are converted to 3D in post-production, YouTube manipulates elements such as color and spatial layout to achieve the intended effect. The site also allows the user to make certain tweaks to the 3D playback, too.
