Funcom lead designer Joel Bylos says he's "excited" to bring to MMORPGs to the Wii U. Speaking with Official Nintendo Magazine, Bylos says the Wii U is the first console that can run an MMO "without compromise".
"The controller is perfect for lining up those rows of hotbars that are essential in most MMOs," says Bylos. "A customisable touchscreen interface combined with the 3D spatial movement of a console controller could be a winner."
There's already at least a couple of MMOs looking to take advantage of the console's unique control scheme. Square Enix plans to bring Dragon Quest X, the series' first MMO, to both the Wii and the Wii U. Ubisoft is developing a mysterious "AAA MMORPG" for the new console.
