An image has surfaced that claims to depict a deleted scene from Mass Effect 3, showing a conversation between Commander Shepard and crew member/possible love interest Ashley Williams. The scene was recreated using still images from the game by redditor zakislam.

The discussion touches on some pretty heavy themes, but it also provides a seemingly important glimpse into Shepard's death at the beginning of Mass Effect 2—does he remember anything between the Normandy's destruction and being awoken in Cerberus's labs? Did he experience any sort of afterlife?

Check out the full image and let us know what you think of the scene in the comments or on Twitter. It's unclear where this supposed deleted scene came from, so bear that in mind when you consider why BioWare may have taken it out; after all, they and EA have been no stranger to controversial content recently.
