Beloved burger chain Shake Shack is aiming to steal hearts once again with additions to the menu at all Upper East Side locations. On the new Smoke Shack burger, they’ve swapped lettuce and tomato for cherry pepper relish and applewood-smoked bacon.
Serious Eats offered their two cents on the new creation:
The bacon is good, but the relish is the real story here: It adds a sweet, slightly hot tang to the burger that a pickle might, only this relish is much more delicious than mere pickles. Not to downplay this bacon; it's good, smokey and cooked to the perfect crispiness...
After that description, who could resist? Hit up a Shake Shack on the Upper East Side soon and devour the burger with reckless abandon.
