In an interview with CNN, Trayvon Martin's older brother Jahvaris Fulton said that George Zimmerman's account of the events leading up to Martin's murder aren't consistent with his younger brother's character: "Based on what I heard, with the 911 tapes and all the evidence, he tried to get away from the situation."

Fulton added: "He wasn't violent. So for him to actually jump on someone he doesn't even know, to me that's not him. He's smarter than that." According to Fulton, Martin was an honors student who was eager to attend college after visitng his brother at Florida International University on spring break.
