So far, most of the clips that we have seen from The Avengers featured a lot of talking, but now we're getting to the good stuff. In this latest footage from the movie, courtesy of Digital Spy, we get a look at the epic New York fight scene that the entire film seems to revolve around. Here, Captain America (Chris Evans) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) square-off against Loki's mysterious alien army in the battered streets of the Big Apple.
Marvel has released countless trailers and footage for this movie so far, but this is the first time we get to see a full clip of two of Earth's Mightiest Heroes fighting together, complete with music and sound effects. Director Joss Whedon seems to have done a solid job of minimizing the inherent cheesiness of seeing two costumed heroes on the screen in broad daylight in this scene. And even though the heartfelt, slow-motion vibe of the clip is a little clichéd, we still can't help but get amped while watching Cap and Thor take care of business.
The Avengers opens on May 4.
