Digital Spy has unveiled a new RPG—currently known only by the wholly unimaginative title "Project RPG"—in development at German studio Deck13 and headed by publisher City Interactive. The game's currently entering its prototype phase, though it's already planned for a 2013 release on 360, PS3 and PC.

1000 years after the death of a god, the being's giant corpse forms a mountain range that divides the world into two ideologically opposed regions. At the beginning of the game you'll choose which side to align with.

The action RPG will feature combat inspired by Dark Souls, Batman: Arkham City and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, with enemies you'll be able to recognize based on their behaviors and fighting styles.

At its helm is Tomasz Gop, a former senior producer at The Witcher 2 developers CD Projekt RED. The concept art above provides some context—are you looking forward to hearing more? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
