Billed as Israel’s first-ever horror movie, Rabies is difficult to classify as a straight-up horror flick. Sure, the elements are there for your run-of-the-mill slasher film, from the set-up of dumbass, horny teens getting lost in the woods to a sexy lady held captive by a knife-wielding madman. Yet, it doesn’t take long for the homicidal maniac to get sidelined and for filmmakers Ahron Keshales and Navot Paposhaddo to cleverly start killing off their characters in random and, at times, accidental ways.

Imagine a Friday The 13th sequel that tallies up a high body-count after Jason Voorhees suddenly decides to take a nap about 15 minutes into the movie.
