The 100 Best Movies Of The Complex Decade

17. Black Swan (2010)

Director: Darren Aronofsky
Stars: Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel, Barbara Hershey, Winona Ryder

Behold, a film that caters to both the snootiest of cinema aficionados and the shallowest of horndogs. Darren Aronofsky's psycho-erotic study of an uptight ballerina's (a dynamite Natalie Portman) descent into lesbian-tinged, hallucinogenic madness requires multiple viewings. The first time, Black Swan's gorgeous cinematography and unpredictable dementia wash over you; each subsequent watch, you'll have a ball piecing together what's real and what's simply in the hottie dancer's pretty little head.

If that sounds like too much work, you can rewatch Black Swan simply for Mila Kunis's red-hotness and her steamy bedroom romp with Portman. Just tell your girl, “Aronofsky's camerawork is outstanding.” She can't argue with that.
