After the Scream franchise was rebooted last year, you had to assume that the Scary Movie series wouldn't be far behind. Now,Entertainment Weekly has broken the news that a fifth installment of the franchise is in production and that Malcolm Lee has been hired to direct. For those unfamiliar with Lee's work, he also directed Soul Men, Roll Bounce, Undercover Brother, and Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins.
Lee will also serve as the writer of the film along with David Zucker, who wrote and directed the last two Scary Movie films. This will be the first new installment of the franchise since Scary Movie 4, which was released all the way back in 2006.
