We know that damage has been done to planes as a result of birds being sucked into jet turbines, but a new report suggests that rabbits at JFK Airport are being gunned down in a preventative, "pre-emptive strike" kind of way.
Over the past 30 years, rabbits have been responsible for three plane crashes, and that is either a lot of plane crashes caused by rabbits or very few plane crashes caused by rabbits, depending on how you look at it. Ninety-nine rabbits were killed last year at JFK. But, seriously, anything less than killing dogs or something to prevent plane crashes is fine by us. Flying is scary.
