The good news for Instagram just keeps coming. The hot photo-sharing startup that sold to Facebook yesterday for a cool $1 billion recently rolled out to Android where it's been an instant smash. Instagram for Android has now been downloaded over five million times, just six days after its release.
Formerly an iOS exclusive, some of Instagram's iPhone users have been less than welcoming to the Android crowd, but that clearly hasn't stopped them from flocking to the app in large numbers.
With Facebook behind it, expect Instagram to continue growing and expanding steadily in the coming months. We wouldn't be surprised to see a Web version in the relatively near future.
