In a move only surprising in that it’s taken this long to happen, HTC has announced that it’s ditching physical QWERTY keypads, focusing solely on touchscreen options. HTC creative director Claude Zellweger has said that “putting too much effort into [QWERTY phones] would take away from our devices,” according to MobileBurn. That probably means the end of slider phones is inevitable, as the company will look to streamline its product line.
