Google just rolled out a major design overhaul for Google+, which is all about making the site speedier and more simple to navigate.

The original Google+ was already pretty minimalist, but the new version refocuses things a bit. All of the navigation options have been moved to a lefthand panel, leaving room for large photos and videos in the newsfeed. There's also a new Twitter-like "Trending on Google+" box as well as boxes "People You May Know" and "Things You Might Like" floating on the righthand side.

Profiles have also been updated, with a large Facebook-esque cover photo sitting up top. Get a tour of all the new features in the video above.
