Remember the website George Zimmerman launched (second image) to solicit money for his legal expenses? Well, it turns out that the old-school layout didn’t stop it from raising $200,000. Zimmerman’s attorney Mark O’Mara popped up on Anderson Cooper 360, saying that he learned about the money Wednesday and will tell a judge today. The site has been shut down due to Zimmerman’s social media ban, but O’Mara is starting a new defense fund for his client.

Here’s the kicker: O’Mara acknowledged that had a judge known about that money, Zimmerman’s bail would’ve been set higher than $150,000. O’Mara had argued that Zimmerman was broke after going into hiding, and that his family might not have the financial means to pay his bond.

Zimmerman was released from prison early Monday morning after being charged with second degree murder for killing Trayvon Martin.
