Late yesterday evening, George Zimmerman was charged with second degree murder for killing Trayvon Martin. Another strange revelation occurred yesterday, as it was unearthed that Zimmerman’s MySpace username was “datniggytb.”

According to The Daily Caller, a Zimmerman family member initially denied that the account belonged to Zimmerman, then admitted it was an “old MySpace page" that Zimmerman had “forgotten all about.” The account was promptly deleted during the second of three phone calls between The Daily Caller and the family member.

The family member insisted that the name associated with the account was a not a racial slur, but rather a nickname that Zimmerman’s “black friends gave him.” As for the “tb” at the end of the username, the family member seemed to suggest that it refers to another nickname, “Tugboat,” given to Zimmerman because of his size.

The source was adamant that the letters did not refer to the first and middle initials of Trayvon Benjamin Martin.

The source confirmed that the photo was of Zimmerman and his wife, Shellie, taken on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. a few years ago. Other details identify the account holder as a 28-year-old male from Lake Mary, Fla., all consistent with Zimmerman.

The screengrab shows that the account’s last log-in was yesterday, April 11. That could've been done to delete the account; The Daily Caller confirmed that it was active between April 6 and April 11.
