Portland Chef Andy Ricker already introduced New York to Pok Pok via the Lower East Side’s Pok Pok Wing in January. Now, there's Pok Pok NY (127 Columbia St.). Located in Brooklyn’s Columbia Waterfront area, the newer location features a more complete menu, much like the one found at the original location in Oregon.

Visit the Brooklyn location for everything from the Yam Kop to the Hoti Thawt, which both cost $14. The dishes are expensive, but the authentic Thai spice is more than worth it. Where other restaurants smack the patron in the eyes with the décor, Pok Pok Ny takes a subtle approach. It’s all about the menu, not the ambiance.

For the moment, it’s only open Wednesday through Sunday for dinner. Also, they don’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait. Impatient foodies need not bother.
