THQ and Vigil Games announced that the release date for Darksiders 2  has been changed from June to some time this August, according to a post on the Darksiders blog.

According to the post, the extra couple of months will give Vigil time "to ensure that all aspects of Darksiders II meet the high-quality bar the team is targeting."

The announcement comes after comments from THQ VP Danny Bilson implied some kind of delay announcement, leading to rumors that both Darksiders 2 and the upcoming South Park RPG may be pushed back.

While the delay will effect Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions (which were all schedule to come out in June) "other platform releases" like the Wii U have apparently not been effected.
