Bungie may have handed over the key to the Halo franchise to 343 Industries, but they've sent out one final farewell to fans: an infographic chronicling the multiplayer exploits of fans over the last eight years, since they started tracking players' activities in Halo 2.

Across Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST, and Halo: Reach, fans have played 20,880,250,123 games. That's 136,128,511,043 kills, which is more than the estimated number of humans to have ever lived in real life. In hours, that's 2,060,196,113, or 85,841,504 days.

"According to our Bungie.net data, in the collective time you've spent playing Halo you could have travelled across the expanse of the MIlky Way at the speed of light … and back," Bungie writes. "Thank you for being the brightest stars in our galaxy. Thank you for making Bungie.net your community home these many years.

"See you starside." Could that be a hint at what their future games will hold? Let us know what you think in the comments or on Twitter.
