It's not every 2D platformer/shooter that dares to compare itself to DOTA, but Awesomenauts doesn't seem like your regular digital game.
The class-based side-scrolling shooter pits players against one another in 3-on-3 online matches. Collaboration is key, but chaos will likely reign as well.
The game is launching on PSN and XBLA on May 1 (for $9.99/800 Microsoft Points), but it's also the PlayStation Plus game of the month—meaning it'll be free to Sony's PS Plus subscribers throughout May.
