AT&T Will Unlock Your Out-of-Contract iPhone

Ma Bell wants to do you a solid.

To unlock your iPhone, you need to employ various hacks or bring it to that one guy your friend recommends. Not anymore. If you're an AT&T subscriber, you now have an easier solution. Ma Bell announced today that starting Sunday, April 8, it will unlock customer's iPhones once their two-year contracts have run their course. This will allow subscribers to use their phone with a micro-sim from a wireless service that uses a compatible network. Sorry, kids, that means no Verizon afterlife for your iPhone.
