Forget GIFs— these 8-bit moving images are the height of retro-tinged Internet art.
They were created by Mark Ferrari and Joseph Huckaby using an old video game animation technique known as "color-cycling."
Ferrari is a graphics artist who cut his teeth at LucasArts, and Huckaby coded his animations using HTML 5 (look ma, no Flash!). Scroll through their gallery of gorgeous moving landscapes complete with ambient soundtracks. We can't take our eyes off them.
