There are cult comedies and then there is Anchorman, the massively popular 2004 flick that almost any person 18-30 years old can quote roughly half of.

So yeah, the fact that there will be an Anchorman sequel is kind of a big deal. Rob Burgundy (Will Ferrell, duh) himself announced the news on Conan O'Brien last night (after an enthusiastic performance on the flute, and ripping into host Conan about his lacking looks): "As of 09:00 Mountain Time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman. It is official! There will be a sequel to Anchorman. There will be a sequel.”

Do you think Anchorman's sequel can match (or outmatch?) the original. Judging from Ferrell's short yet enthusiastic reprisal of the role last night, we say yes! Especially considering that Deadline is reporting that Judd Apatow will co-produce, and original cast members Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell and David Kechner will also return. No word yet on Christina Applegate—maybe Burgundy has found a new lady anchor to love?
