The British Academy of Film and Television Arts' video game awards this weekend strayed from the norm by awarding Portal 2, and not Skyrim, with the illustrious Best Game award. Skyrim, the big winner at the Spike TV Video Game Awards (and most other outlets, it seems) went home empty-handed, despite being nominated in five different categories.

- Performer: Mark Hamill, for The Joker in Batman: Arkham City
- Sports/Fitness: Kinect Sports 2
- Story: Portal 2
- Strategy: Total War: Shogun 2
- BAFTA Ones to Watch Award: Tick Tock Toys
- GAME Award of 2011: Battlefield 3
Check out the full list of nominees at BAFTA's site—we're not sure why there aren't any categories for RPGs, or why Deus Ex and Dark Souls are in the Strategy category. At least we can agree with their pick for game of the year, though.
