In what will undoubtedly turn out to be one of the biggest hits of the year, The Hunger Games focuses on a dystopian version of North America that seeks to entertain itself by sending a teenage boy and girl from each of its 12 districts to compete in a battle to the death. But when a young woman named Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers to take her younger sister’s place in this sick ritual, she begins to change the entire face of the government.
In this clip we see Katniss showing off her archery talents for the judges of the Hunger Games, who will then grade her on a scale of 1 to 12. But instead of paying attention to her, they seem to be more focused on stuffing their faces with some high-end delicacies. Katniss decides to take matters into her own hands and shows them just how skilled she is up close and personal.
With screenings already sold out weeks in advance, The Hunger Games could end up bumping off Twilight as top dog of the YA genre. We’ll see if the actual film can match the hype when The Hunger Games is released on March 23.
