Overnight, the Mega Millions Jackpot grew around $100 million dollars. Because of the already record jackpot, people started going batshit crazy and bought 100 M's worth of tickets in a day. Not all states are participating in the lottery, so some people are going to extreme lengths to give away a dollar (or 300)—like driving 72 miles from Las Vegas to Northern Arizona to buy some tickets. Just kidding! We bought some, everyone has a fair chance, it isn't a (real) waste of money, et cetera. We aren't that cynical.
