Nintendo is starting the 3DS collector's edition hardware stampede in Japan, releasing a new 3DS color and three special edition bundles over the next two months.

This will be the second new 3DS color available exclusively in Japan (at least for now). There are four colors in the US: "Cosmo Black", "Aqua Blue", "Fire Red", and "Pearl Pink". Nintendo still hasn't exported the fifth 3DS color, "Ice White".

Shortly after, Nintendo will use the new color to make a special edition console for Fire Emblem: Awakening, which will come out opposite the console on April 19th.

Nintendo also unveiled a bundle pairing with Monster Hunter 3G with either a red or black 3DS, which hits stores on March 17th.

Lastly, to celebrate the release of Super Mario Bros in 3D on the virtual console, Nintendo is releasing a special bundle that includes either a pink or white 3DS console with the virtual console edition of the Super Mario Bros pre-installed, as well as Super Mario 3D Land. Those bundles hit Japanese shelves on March 24th.

There's currently no indication that any of this stuff will be coming stateside, though I'd imagine Fire Emblem: Awakening will make its way west somewhere down the line.
