A murder-suicide left 44-year-old Dr. Timothy Roses and his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend Lindsay Nichols dead in Jesup, Iowa, last Wednesday. Nichols had ended her relationship with the radiologist earlier in the year, and friends say that his increasingly erratic behavior had begun to concern her.
On Wednesday, Nichols changed her relationship status on Facebook to show that she was now dating Chase Weber. This caused Roses to follow Nichols to Weber's driveway and shoot her when she refused to get into his car. Weber witnessed it all and promptly called 911.
Nichols was studying to radiology at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, where she met Roses. Her friends had advised her to obtain a restraining order against Roses after his actions started to worry them all.
