Google, in a move that should both shock and delight gamers everywhere, has revealed that they're bringing Google Maps to "one of the most popular computer systems ever sold", The Nintendo Entertainment System.

Yes, you can even get Google Maps on your NES.

How does it work, you ask? Well Google designed a special version of the NES cartridge, which included an Ethernet port. Just plug the cart in, its ready to go! Once online, maps are pulled and updated from the cloud, just like they would be on any modern device.

8-bit google maps can be used to look up individual locations (some of which have 8-bit landmarks) or find directions.

The actual NES cartridges will be in the Google Store soon. In the meantime, you can check out a demo of 8-bit google maps on the website. Click the "quest" button on the top-right corner of the window.
