These photos from the Museum of the City of New York depict a version of the Bronx that none of us are familiar with. Spanning from the end of the 19th century to the early part of the 20th, the collection includes a look at Sedgwick Avenue, which would later become the birthplace of hip-hop (first image).

We're certain that even back then, you had to wipe your feet when you stepped in someone from the Bronx's house. Also, feel free to bump this for the remainder of the afternoon—unless you're from Queens.
