The highly anticipated Wii-exclusive action RPG The Last Story is finally heading to the US, Nintendo and publisher XSEED revealed today, giving game journalists everywhere another reason to make a joke about dusty Wiis. It'll be available "summer 2012," which, if the weather in LA is any indication, could be any day now.

Here's the story synopsis from the press release sent out today: "The Last Story follows Zael and his band of fellow adventurers as they go to Lazulis Island, the only region prospering as the mainland of the Empire slowly rots away, in search of work and a better future. After securing employment with the ruler of the island, Count Arganan, Zael dreams of finally achieving a secure life as a knight and putting his unstable mercenary past behind him, but things don't exactly go to plan when events during their first mission change his life forever..."

Mistalker Studios was founded in 2004 by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the original creator of Final Fantasy, so chances are The Last Story will be great—like old Final Fantasy games were great. We're excited to finally get a chance to play it here. Are you? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
