Biz Stone is pretty much the godfather of blogging, having been a founding member of Xanga in 1998, Blogger in 2003, and Twitter in 2006. Appearing at the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal on Wednesday, he was asked about spending up to 12 hours a day on Twitter, to which he responded, “To me, that sounds unhealthy.”

Coincidentally, the comments come on the heels of the world’s first live-tweeted open-heart surgery, which took place at Houston’s Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital earlier in the week.

“I like the kind of engagement where you go to the website and you leave because you’ve found what you are looking for or you found something very interesting and you learned something,” Stone went on to say, striking down compulsive tweeting.
