Despite various delays bogging down production, The Wolverine will officially be released on July 26, 2013, according to Super Hero Hype. Directed by James Mangold and starring Hugh Jackman, The Wolverine's script was written by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), with rewrites done by Mark Bomback, who wrote Live Free or Die Hard.
This sequel to 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine will see Logan embark on a forbidden love affair with a Japanese woman who has promised to marry another man. The tension begins to mount and soon Logan is forced to do battle with her father, brothers, and the villainous Silver Samurai.
This movie will mark the fifth time that Jackman has taken on the role of Wolverine, and the first time that audiences will see his classic foe, the Silver Samurai, on the screen. The first Wolverine solo movie may have been disappointing, but with Fox putting out the stellar X-Men: First Class and Rise of the Planet of the Apes last summer, the studio seems to have a clear vision on what to do with their hottest properties now.
