40. Dukes Of Hazzard

Aired: January 26, 1979 - February 8, 1985 (CBS)
Theme Song: Waylon Jennings “The Good Ol' Boys”

It doesn't matter if you're a city slicker to the core—it's hard to front on The Dukes Of Hazzard, and we're not just talking about leggy Daisy Duke. Country music star Waylon Jennings' banjo-driven “The Good Ol' Boys” is small town Americana to the max, but the song's message is as gangsta as distributing moonshine, with lyrics like, “Some day the mountain might get 'em, but the law never will.” The redneck “Fuck Tha Police” of TV show themes saves the best line for last, telling us that Bo and Luke Duke are “fighting the system like two modern-day Robin Hoods.” Told you it was gangsta.
