The 2012 Olympics Will Be Broadcast In 3D

In what should make for an Olympics to remember for certain lucky viewers, NBC has announced that the 2012 games will be broadcast in 3D— a first for the time-honored tradition.

If you own a 3D-capable television, you'll be able to watch the games in 3D on a special dedicated channel, thanks to a sponsorship deal with Panasonic. Its not yet clear which carriers will offer 3D support, however, although it's a safe bet that Comcast (which owns NBC) will be among them.

Though we're not down with watching everything in 3D, seeing the world's best athletes leaping off the screen during the games does sound enticing.

So, who's gonna go in on a new 3D set?
