One of Spotify’s biggest shortcomings in its app iteration has been its rather substandard audio quality of Internet streams. At 160 kbps, you’re likely to find comparable quality with any YouTube stream. Spotify has finally addressed this with its new iOS upgrade, version 0.4.23. It now lists an “Extreme” mode, which bumps up stream quality to 320 kbps, so paid subscribers really get their money’s worth. Other new features include one-tap Facebook login, if you’re that lazy. No word yet on upgrades from Android or Windows.
