"Mortal Kombat" Vita Trailer Teases Us With AR Functionality

There's no augmented reality in Mortal Kombat Vita, despite what's in this trailer...

This new trailer for the upcoming Vita edition of Moral Kombat made the game about a thousand times more exciting when it showed Scorpion and Sub-Zero kicking the crap out of each other on a city street, suggesting that the game might use augmented reality technology to make fights appear to be taking place in the real world.

Suggesting is the operative word.

It turns out that, while Mortal Kombat Vita will have some new features, including touch-controls for fatalities and a new "test your might" variant, the ad never explicitly states that an A.R. mode will be part of the game... Which most likely means it actually isn't.

Even without the AR effects, Mortal Kombat on the go is still pretty cool, as the trailer shows. You'll be able to pick up MK on Vita some time this Spring.
