After directing last year's Battle: Los Angeles, and the upcoming Wrath of the Titans, Jonathan Liebesman has proven himself capable of having the visual chops necessary to craft a marketable Hollywood blockbuster. And before Wrath even hits theaters on March 30, Variety is reporting that Liebesman is in negotiations to take on a reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise for Paramount.

This new take on the Turtles will be produced by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form, and will be working from a script by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec. There are no plot details available at this time, but this movie will reportedly have no ties to any of the previous incarnations of the characters. The last time the Ninja Turtles were on the big screen was in 2007's CGI film, TMNT, which was received poorly by fans and critics alike.

Is a big action director like Liebesman the right fit for a property like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Sound off in the comments section below.
