As posthumous traditions go, the release of the FBI file is one of the more interesting ones, for the gossipy nuggets of info about the deceased. In Steve Jobs’ case, all that’s really revealed are petty grievances with his “questionable character.”

Considered for an appointment to Bush, Sr.’s President Export Council in 1985, the FBI interviewed many of Jobs’ associates for a background check. In the file, it states, “Several individuals questioned Mr. Jobs honesty stating that Mr. Jobs will twist the truth and distort reality in order to achieve his goals.” Later it includes comments by a redacted individual who characterizes Jobs “as a deceptive individual who is not completely forthright and honest.” All in all, sounds like the makings of a successful businessman.
