EA Confirms That "Syndicate" Will Not Have an Online Pass

Producer sites the importance of co-op play among reasons not to restrict used-game buyers.

Speaking with Eurogamer, EA Partners Executive Producer Jeff Gamons announced that upcoming FPS Syndicate would not include a season pass or any kind of code-locked content meant to discourage used game sales.

When asked about the decision, Gamons said he felt that it was in the game's best interest to have  "everyone who owns a copy of the game to have access to the entire product." Gamons also specifically cited Syndicate's emphasis on co-op and lack of competitive online multiplayer as reasons for not adding an online pass.

EA requires every game it develops to include some sort of season pass. Syndicate, developed by Starbreeze and published under the "EA Partners" umbrella, is exempt from the policy.
