Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced that Assassin's Creed III should be in stores on October 30th. Hosting Ubisoft's financial reporting call, Guillemot called Assassin's Creed III "the true next generation of both the Assassin's Creed brand and interactive entertainment/storytelling in general."

Ubisoft's financial expectations will apparently rise to meet their lofty creative goals: Guillemot said the company expects AC3 to be the most successful entry in the series to date: Assassin's Creed Revelations sold over 7 million copies since it's release last November.

No specifics were mentioned regarding the game's plot or gameplay, so rumors that Assassin's Creed III will be set during the American Revolution remain just as viable as they were before.
