According to a patent application, Apple is looking to make the keyboard even thinner and lighter for use in a “thin-profile computing device without compromising the tactile feel of the keyboard.” The new design would utilize a “Single Support Lever Keyboard Mechanism,” in which keys would travel only 0.2 millimeters downward upon being pressed. It would also allow for keys to be made out of any material, even “polished meteorite” if you wanna get classy.
