The Writer's Guild of America has announced their 2011 nominations for best written game of the year. Yes, the WGA does actually have a best game script category. The winner will be announced at Writer Guild Awards on February 19th.

I know what you're thinking: "Why do I care about the nominees?" Just tell me when they announce the winner. Well, this year's got some pretty interesting nominees: They run the gamut from popular Game of the Year contenders to games that a lot of people really didn't like. There's even a fighting game on the list!

Without further adieu, here are the best written games  of 2011...

Batman: Arkham City

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Brink

Mortal Kombat

SUPRISE!

I bet you didn't that one coming. All of these games focused on storytelling and featured quite a bit of spoken dialogue. Though Brink and Mortal Kombat are both multiplayer-centric games, they both made sure to frame that gameplay in well-constructed story. Brink may not have been the prettiest package, but that didn't mean it didn't have nice wrapping...

Do you think there's a well written game that deserves to be on this list? Let us know!
