This weekend, Snoop Dogg showed his support for George Lucas' Tuskegee Airmen saga, Red Tails, by hosting a private screening at the Arclight in Hollywood for over 200 family and friends.

Many special guests also came out, including the film's star Terrence Howard, Tristan Wilds (who recently spoke to us about working with Lucas) and the movie's co-writer, Aaron McGruder.

Snoop has also taken to his Twitter to drum up support for the film, which was wholly-funded by Lucas (he put $58 million into its production) due to the difficulty of finding financial support for an all African-American cast.

The film finished in second place at the box office this weekend, pulling in $19.1 million behind Underworld: Awakening, which took the first place with $25.4 million.

Maybe Lucas owes Snoop a "thank you" letter?
