Once you drop $400 on an iPad 2 your next thought should be, How the hell am I going to make sure this thing remains safe and sound? We've tried to help you out by showing you our favorite cases, but one company is willing to do anything to prove that you should buy its cases.

G-Form, the Rhode Island-based accessory company, decided to show how good its iPad cases are by dropping the tablet, wrapped in its Extreme Edge Case, from space. G-Form attached the iPad to a weather balloon equipped with a camera so it could record the fall from Earth's stratosphere.

The iPad fell more than 100,000 feet and crashed in a rocky desert in Nevada reportedly close to the infamous Area 51 military base.

Peep the video above to see the iPad survive the crazy descent.
