In a slightly unexpected turn, Sony's Kazuo Harai has addressed rumors surrounding a PlayStation 4 announcement at E3.
The Sony executive had this to say:
"Andy (House) is absolutely right in that we are not making any announcements at E3. I've always said a 10-year life cycle for PS3, and there is no reason to go away from that."
So, that's it for now. No PlayStation 4 just yet. Personally, I think it makes sense in a lot of ways, since Sony has just started putting up the numbers to show themselves as a true competitor in this generations' console war. They're sitting on an extremely powerful console, and they're putting the finishing touches on having a solid install base.
I don't know about you, but I'm not sure I need a PlayStation 4 right now. How about all of you?
