Network: HBO
Stars: Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Anna Chlumsky, Tony Hale, Matt Walsh, Reid Scott
Premiere Date: April
Why we’re excited: After the close call of Sarah Palin almost entering the White House alongside presidential hopeful John McCain, thoughts of a female Vice President could very well instill horror movie scares in the minds of liberals, Obama supporters, and people with common sense.

With Veep, a new single camera comedy series led by the always humorous Julia Louis-Dreyfus, HBO is hedging its bets on the rationalization that some folks can still see the laughs in such a political occurrence. Louis-Dreyfus plays, you guessed it, a woman VP in the latest endeavor from creator Armando Iannucci, whose 2009 political satire In The Loop inspired (and deserved) endless accolades from movie critics across the world. Based on an early preview, we can assure you that Veep manages to capture In The Loop’s scathing energy, so even those who still can’t shake off the Palin era will laugh their asses off.
