In the new sci-fi horror thriller Chronicle, Michael B. Jordan (The Wire, Friday Night Lights, Red Tails) plays Steve Montgomery, one of three teenagers who stumble upon an extraterrestrial craft that blesses (or perhaps curses) them with superpowers. The immature young men's abuse of their abilities starts harmlessly enough with mischief-making but grows troublesome as one of them loses responsibility entirely and gives in to his darker urges.

In Hollywood, there aren't many superpowered black men and women, be they good or evil, so Jordan's performance is especially noteworthy. That's why we're taking this opportunity to give it up one time for The 10 Best Black Superheroes In Movies. And before anyone complains about the absence of Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury or Don Cheadle's War Machine, this is strictly for the homies with special abilities. Save that regular human shit for another day.
